Marbles Bridge

History

Marbles, made from a variety of materials, have been around since the time of the Ancient Egyptians.

During the medieval period marbles, coming to England from the Low Countries, were known as bosses or bonces and sometimes as king marbles and often made of stone or clay.

Their heyday was the middle of the 19th century when the most prized marbles are made of veined glass.
